These wooden fertility doll statues are hand carved from ebony wood in Kenya. They replicate the Ashanti fertility dolls from Ghana, West Africa. The Ashanti people consider round faces particularly beautiful. These statues and figures became symbols of fertility for women during childbirth. The dolls represent good luck and beautiful African artwork.

This pair depicts a male and a female figure, ranging from 4" to 5" tall.
