Hand carved in Kenya, these unique hand painted wood fertility doll statues are replicas of the Ashanti fertility dolls in Ghana. The Ashanti people of West Africa attribute a special beauty to round faces. Theses statues and or figures became symbols, and were most likely used further to help assist and promote fertility for women during childbirth.
